Hey, how’s it going? I hope, like me, you’ve been enjoying the scorching bank holiday weekend weather, or at least your local version of it, because here on The Cosmic Photo Challenge we’re going; Looking for shade.
Over the weekend I’ve had a few nice days out, one of which took me through Venn Quarry Woods on a walk to Landkey for a pint and a bowl of chips. The cool of the riverbank and the tree-shaded pathways were a welcome relief from the heat.

Where did you shelter from the sun this week..?

You definitely found more shade than me, Dale! Those dark paths look very inviting.

The third and fifth shots are of the trail which leads from Venn Quarry to the village of Landkey, it’s about half a mile or so and most of it is shaded by the trees arching overhead, it’s lovely and cool on a hot day.

Sound wonderful (especially leading to and fro from a pub).

The trail through the Venn Quarry Woods looks wonderful. I especially liked all the shaded darkness of the first photo.

Thank you, Frank, yes I love the way that tunnel of trees is so well defined, with all those branches standing straight up above the entrance, it looks like a cave.
