The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Symmetry.

Hi there, it’s time for The Cosmic Photo Challenge to start your week, with today’s theme being; Symmetry.

I used the natural forms of ferns and trees to create my symmetrical artworks, their fronds and branches making wonderfully intricate patterns when multiplied.

Now let’s see if you were in a reflective mood at the weekend…

Hello, it’s already time for your weekly prompt on The Cosmic Photo Challenge again, where does the time go?

This week I’m looking for images to go with the theme of; Symmetry.

This can be photos of a subject with a naturally symmetrical form, or pictures that have been cunningly edited to create synthetic symmetry, so to speak.

Have a great weekend, see you all on the other side.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Under the canopy.

Well here we are, with another week ahead of us, but Monday also brings the bonus of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is heading into the trees for the prompt; Under the canopy.

Just looking up at all the different shades of green unfurling above us at the moment makes me happy, so this challenge was no challenge at all, it was an absolute pleasure.

And one extra photo, which is above and below the canopy, taken as it was from up on some scaffolding. The outside of my building is being painted at the moment, so I took the opportunity to climb up at the weekend and capture this unusual perspective of one corner of my garden, above some of the trees and below others.

(I live on the ground floor, so I never get to see the garden from above)

Now let’s see your leafy offerings from the weekend…

Good afternoon, I hope you’re winding down for the weekend, ready for today’s prompt on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, should you choose to accept it.

I love this time of year, when the trees are finally unfurling their leaves, providing the world with a green roof and creating new, enclosed spaces to enjoy. So for Monday’s post we’re going; Under the canopy.

Get out in nature and capture some arboreal glory, have a great weekend and I’ll see you again very soon.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Art for art’s sake.

Good morning, welcome to a bank holiday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which this week concentrates on creativity, with the prompt; Art for art’s sake.

I spent a few hours yesterday, making one of my surreal collages from so many photos, I lost track of the number I used, but there are lots. I had particular fun with the reflections in this one…

Where did your artistic muse take you this week..?

Good evening, happy May day to you, here’s your weekly prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I think it’s time to once again let our creative urges get the better of us and make some; Art for art’s sake.

As usual, any subject matter is allowed, all post production techniques and editing processes are encouraged and every style is up for grabs.

So have fun over the weekend and I’ll see you on Monday.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: North, South East and West.

Good morning, I hope you all had a nice weekend, now it’s time for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is based on the prompt; North, South, East and West.

It’s a simple idea: four pictures, one taken in each direction. They don’t have to have been taken from the same spot, or at the same time, just as long as they’re facing towards one of the cardinal points of the compass.

I took mine on a couple of my morning walks in the countryside outside Barnstaple.

North
South
East
West

Now let’s see what direction you took with your images this week…

Hi there, happy Friday to you, here’s your prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I think it’s time for another round of North, South, East and West, whereby each of your four photos should be taken while facing (roughly) in one of the aforementioned compass directions.

Does that make sense? Four pictures; one taken facing North, one facing East, one South and one to the West. But they don’t all have to be taken from the same spot, or even on the same day.

Right, see you all on Monday, have a great weekend.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: How does your garden grow?

Good morning, everyone, I hope you enjoyed the weekend, now it’s time to ease you into Monday with The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today the theme doesn’t take us far from home, as Friday’s prompt posed the question; How does your garden grow?

The two borders that run down either side of my small garden are filling out nicely, as the annuals, shrubs and small trees spring back to life after their winter rest.

Now let’s see what your green spaces look like…

Hello there, it’s time to receive your weekend homework from The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which this week asks the question; How does your garden grow?

Spring is well underway now and things are getting horticulturally interesting again, so let’s take the opportunity to share some images of our own green spaces.

Whether you have a grand formal garden, a small yard or a window box, show us what is looking good in your outdoor oasis.

See you all on Monday for the regular show and tell, have a great weekend.
