The Cosmic Photo Challenge: The path to…

Good morning, everyone, I hope you are all well, now here’s The Cosmic Photo Challenge to ease you into a new week.

Today’s pictures were inspired by the theme; The path to…

Any and all routes, thoroughfares, highways and byways are eligible, we’re not sticklers for fine details here at the CosPhoChal.

Despite having at least one sunny walk at the weekend, I chose to capture my selection of avenues and alleyways on a misty, muddy morning for a change.

Now it’s time for you to lead us down your chosen path…

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: After the rain.

Hi, I hope you’re all rested and ready to take part in The Cosmic Photo Challenge this fine Monday morning, following the (slightly late) prompt; After the rain.

It was such an unexpected relief from the more or less continuous downpour we’ve been experiencing lately, that the sunny(ish) weather at the weekend was actually trending on UK social media. I took my pictures on a couple of my daily, rather muddy walks around the countryside, where the sound of running water could be heard almost everywhere, but the sunshine made all the difference.

I include this shot for the creatively stacked tyre Minion in the background

Now let’s see your post-precipitation pictures…

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Ferns and fungi.

Good day to you, wherever you may be, welcome to The Cosmic Photo Challenge on this wet, pre-autumn Monday morning, I hope you had a good weekend.

This week’s theme could vaguely be considered seasonal, depending on your location, as it features those lovers of damp and shady conditions; Ferns and fungi.

I took a walk along the river Yeo on Saturday morning and found the perfect environment for them both to flourish.

Now let’s see what you have to offer us, take up as mushroom as you need…  ;~}

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Off the beaten track.

Hello, I hope you had a nice break, but now it’s time to get back to work and your first job of the week is The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today we’re taking the roads less travelled, by exploring; Off the beaten track.

I took a walk in the woods at Goodleigh, just outside Barnstaple on Saturday afternoon, where I captured these views of the late summer landscape.

What did you find in the out of the way places at the weekend..?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Take a hike.

Good morning, I hope your weekend went well, let’s get straight into The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is inspired by the prompt; Take a hike.

It’s been perfect weather for shady walks in the woods and sunny strolls across the fields recently, so here’s a selection from both Devon and Sussex.

What did you capture on your wanderings this week..?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Up, down and sideways.

Hello, good morning and welcome to an Easter bank holiday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is looking; Up, down and sideways.

I went for a very pleasant woodland walk on Saturday, through drifts of bluebells which grow at the foot of some impressive rocky outcrops, the tops of which made for good “down” images.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Fun in the sun.

Hello there, welcome to The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I hope you’ve all had a lovely break and the weather where you are was suitable for some; Fun in the sun.

I had Melody and Daisy the dog staying over the weekend; we visited a food festival in Bideford on Saturday and went for a stroll through Venn Quarry Woods yesterday, where there was a bit of a canine theme…

Where did you find sunny fun this week..?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Autumn’s golden gown.

Well, hello there, welcome to a new week and a new edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is brought to you by the prompt; Autumn’s golden gown.

The woods at the National Trust’s Arlington Court are looking especially colourful at the moment, so I went there for a stroll and it was almost impossible to take a bad picture.

For anyone not familiar with the origin of today’s prompt, here’s the classic tune I pinched it from.

What did you capture for us over the weekend..?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Looking for shade.

Good morning, everyone, welcome to another week and to yet another Monday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, where this week we’re; Looking for shade.

I thought I was going to be stumped by the weather again, because it was overcast all day Saturday and, despite the oppressive heat, it was still very grey yesterday morning. But by lunchtime the sun had burned off all the clouds, so I went for a stroll along the river Yeo.

There really is nothing like the cool, dappled shade beneath trees on a riverbank.

One enterprising family has taken the design concept of “borrowed landscape” to its logical conclusion, by extending the garden right down to the water’s edge from their overhanging deck.

I’m very envious.

Further down the river there’s a deep pool where it turns a corner, making a great place for a rope swing over the water.

Where did you go to cool off at the weekend?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Waterways.

Hello there, I hope the weather was as good for you over the weekend as it was here, it was gorgeous out in the woods capturing images for The Cosmic Photo Challenge yesterday.

Our theme this week is; Waterways, very loosely referring to pretty much any body of water you can think of and I picked one of my favourite local riverside walks.

Trees casting dappled shade made it a pleasantly cool stroll and even though this branch of the river Yeo was at its lowest ebb in the heat, the slowly flowing waters produced some great reflections.

Where did your search for watery inspiration take you this week..?
