This week on The Cosmic Photo Challenge we are remembering the past with an eye on the future, for the prompt; Lest we forget.
I went down to Rock Park in Barnstaple for the annual Remembrance Day service at the war memorial.
How did you mark your memorable weekend?

Good afternoon, welcome to this week’s prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge.
Today is the eleventh day of the eleventh month and at 11am today the country fell silent for two minutes, to honour the fallen and those who served in all wars.
So, as a mark of respect to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom, and to those who continue to do so, the theme this week is; Lest we forget.
See you on Monday, have a great weekend.
“Southampton Dock” by Pink Floyd (R. Waters)
“They disembarked in 45 And no-one spoke and no-one smiled There were too many spaces in the line.
Gathered at the cenotaph All agreed with the hand on heart To sheath the sacrificial Knives.
But now She stands upon Southampton dock With her handkerchief And her summer frock Clings to her wet body in the rain.
In quiet desperation Knuckles white upon the slippery reins She bravely waves the boys Goodbye again.
And still the dark stain spreads between his shoulder blades. A mute reminder of the poppy fields and graves. And when the fight was over We spent what they had made. But in the bottom of our hearts We felt the final cut.”
