The Cosmic Photo Challenge: A winter’s walk.

Hello and season’s greetings to you all from The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which this week gets out and about on; A winter’s walk.

Since I changed jobs last year, I haven’t been getting as much exercise, so I’ve recently started doing a daily two and a quarter mile hike around the country lanes on the very edge of Barnstaple. I’m fortunate enough that I have the countryside five minutes from my door, so a weekend walk was the perfect time to capture the chilly morning landscape.

Have a fantastic holiday, I’d like to wish you and all of your loved ones the very merriest of Christmases, I’ll see you for our end of year roundup next week.

Hello there, welcome to the penultimate prompt for 2025’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, I hope all your holiday preparations are going well.

I took a chilly, early evening stroll round Barnstaple town on Saturday to capture my yuletide sparkle-fest; with a couple of extra snaps I took whilst waiting to leave my road, hemmed in as I was by the local Round Table’s Santa sleigh.

Hello there, it’s only two weeks until the holidays, but here at The Cosmic Photo Challenge we haven’t got festive yet, in fact we’re positively vague about the subject of today’s theme; Abstract.

That gave us almost unlimited scope for our photographic offerings this week and I spent a Zen-like couple of hours yesterday creating this abstract collage from strips I cropped from pictures of random objects around the house and other old photos.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Reflections.

Good morning, I hope you’ve had a relaxing weekend and are reinvigorated for the week ahead, starting with The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today, Thanksgiving weekend hangovers or not, we’re all seeing double, because the theme is; Reflections.

Saturday here was on and off (mostly) rain and short bursts of sunshine, one of which I managed to catch, taking advantage of the reflective power of puddles in the park and on the river.

All I did here was drain anything other than blue from the bottom half of the picture, showing how much colour is reflected from just wet stones

Good morning, welcome to The Cosmic Photo Challenge, following a very wet weekend here in the UK.

Fortunately, having set the prompt on Friday, I managed to get out that afternoon while the weather was still cold and bright, to capture some images of; Autumn landscapes.

I took a walk up onto the hills above Barnstaple to take my pictures, some of which might only have glimpses of the landscape in the background, but I like them nonetheless.
