Cosmic Photo prompt.

Phew, made it to Friday again, so now it’s just the small matter of providing a prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This week we’re going to be looking for something to capture the essence of; One thing inside another.

Take that any way you like and run with it in whatever direction your heart desires, I look forward to seeing the results.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Up, down and sideways.

Good morning to all of you, from all at The Cosmic Photo Challenge, hope you had a good weekend, it’s time to start your day with a view; Up, down and sideways.

I was in town again at the weekend and realised I had the perfect opportunity to look in all those directions; from atop Barnstaple Castle mound (where the castle keep stood from the early 12th century) so here’s another short historical tour.

Looking up at the mound with a recent piece of public art mirroring its shape…

…then looking down on the town from on top…

…with a sideways panorama of the space where the castle once stood.

After that I went into the centre of town, in the old streets around the church with a crooked spire which is a local landmark when giving directions.

Ending with three more sideways shots down side streets and a covered walkway on the side of the library

Good day to you, I hope Friday finds you well and you are prepared for this week’s prompt on The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Today it’s another theme we’ve had before, which only has one rule, that your pictures must be taken; Up, down and sideways.

So at least three shots for Monday’s post, please, but feel free to offer multiple examples of each perspective if you wish.

Other than that, as far as subject matter is concerned, the cosmos is your mollusc. Have a great weekend.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Life in black and white.

Hello again and welcome to the week. Monday is the day we aggregate the creative contributions from around the world to The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today means looking at; Life in black and white.

I took a walk through Barnstaple yesterday afternoon and chose some of the more…utilitarian parts of town, to capture in frozen moments of monochrome.

Now let’s see what your world looks like when it’s drained of colour, it’s really easy to take part.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Over the hills and far away.

There’s a distant look in our eyes for this week’s edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, because the theme I set on Friday was; Over the hills and far away.

I managed to catch a gap in the rain on Saturday, to go walking up one side of the v-shaped, double river valley which makes up the wider Barnstaple landscape.

The weather was too grey and uninteresting to provide anything very inspiring, but here are some views of the misty Devon countryside around our home, including panoramas which feature three different sets of distant hills.

Welcome to Friday’s prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I hope your week went well and you’re ready for your weekend mission.

For Monday’s post, I’d like to see some images on the theme of; As summer fades.

It’s almost an annual feature now, I know, but it’s a nice excuse to get out in what remains of the sunshine. So if you are in a part of the world where a seasonal change is in the air, go out and capture it. If you’re still basking in glorious sunshine for months to come, then frankly I’m envious, but you are still very welcome to take part. ;~}

Welcome to the week, everyone, time for The Cosmic Photo Challenge again, today inspired by the prompt; In the evening.

I took a stroll along the River Taw on Saturday, about an hour before sunset, capturing the softening evening light and some nice reflections, I even managed to turn the sun into a street lamp.
