Well, I just about made the Friday deadline for The Cosmic Photo Challenge prompt this week, really must set a reminder.

I think it’s time for one of our recurring features to make its semi-regular return; Art for art’s sake.

For those of you who are newcomers to the challenge, this is just an opportunity to showcase your creative skills by giving your photos an artistic twist. Whether that’s by way of subject matter, composition, editing or other effects is entirely up to you.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Halloween.

Hello and welcome to The Cosmic Photo Challenge, where this week we’re picturing all things; Halloween.

I have to admit I only chose the theme because I know a lot of people around the world celebrate the occasion, so I was relying on the efforts of my neighborhood to provide me with suitable subject matter.

However, when I went out searching for inspiration, not one house in the area had any decorations up, leaving me at a bit of a loss what to do.

So I created a couple of strange Halloween composite selfies, instead. (The “masks” are in fact the giant skull decoration and trick or treat bucket, below)

Good morning, yes, I know I’m late, my apologies.

Your prompt for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge is once more seasonally adjacent, because you can never have too much; Autumn colour.

I know we’ve had a few similar themes in recent weeks, but not everyone reaches the most colourful phase of the season at the same time and maybe this will round up the stragglers.

I captured my images on a walk along the river in Barnstaple on Saturday, from Rock Park to The Square, where I decided to either shoot through something else, or from low down with a wide angle.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Scenes from an autumn garden.

Good morning, everyone, I hope your weekend went well and that you’re feeling refreshed for the new week ahead. But before we all get back to work, there’s the small matter of The Cosmic Photo Challenge to take care of.

Today we are looking for some seasonal images which fit Friday’s prompt; Scenes from an autumn garden.

It was a fairly typical autumnal weekend here in Devon; mostly overcast, occasional misty rain, with the odd burst of watery sunshine in the evening. So while it was still dry on Saturday I mowed the lawn, then watched the birds and squirrels industriously foraging for food while I captured the garden’s annual shabby chic period.  ;~}

I used a wide angle to capture the borrowed grandeur of  what I like to think of as “my” trees at the end of the garden
That’ll be another acorn I have to dig up
And by the evening, there were leaves all over the lawn again

Good morning, we survived the storm, yay!

After a rather blustery weekend, The Cosmic Photo Challenge returns to warm your heart, with images of our collective passions, obsessions, collections and enthusiasms, with this week’s prompt; My one weakness is…

Well I’m a bit of a nerd, there’s no getting away from it, so I had a selection of beautiful artefacts to choose from. Should I go for my collection of Audrey  Hepburn memorabilia? Or my shelf of neatly arranged Terry Pratchett hardbacks?

No, on balance I think the most honest choices would be the two things which have been my most consuming obsessions over the years; music and Twin Peaks.

There’s even one of my old videos, giving a whistle stop tour of some of my vinyl and CD collection.

Now it’s time for you to reveal your great passions, come on don’t be shy…
