Cosmic Photo prompt.

Happy Friday to you and welcome to your weekly burst of inspiration in the form of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which this week is prompted by; Shadows and Silhouettes.

Lots of scope for subject matter and room for creative imagination, rain or shine, day or night.

See you on Monday, have a great weekend.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Three shots from one spot.

Another blink-and-you-miss-it weekend gone and another interminable week stretches ahead of us, but not before The Cosmic Photo Challenge brightens our Monday, hooray!

Today we’re revisiting a theme I find useful, because it’s one that makes you think more carefully about picking your vantage point, when you’re taking; Three shots from one spot.

I have a trio of triptychs for you, all taken yesterday on a stroll along the river into Barnstaple. I was originally going to post the shots individually, but I like the way the three perspectives fit next to each other.

How did your search for sets of three go? Check out the simple steps below, then you’ll be in the know and can have a go…

Cosmic Photo prompt.

For this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge I’d like you to capture images for another round of; Three shots from one spot.

If you haven’t played this game before, it’s very simple; all you have to do this week is take three photos (or sets of three if you like) while standing in the same place, or at least in the same location.

So you have an unlimited range of subject matter, you just have to know where to stand.

Have a great weekend, see you on Monday.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Music on film.

It’s a trawl through the archives this week on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, after a bout of festival nostalgia inspired me to set the prompt as; Music on film.

Here’s a small selection of the many images of musical folk I’ve captured over the years.

Where did your musical muse lead you at the weekend?

Cosmic Photo prompt.

Hello, sorry I’m late, but here I am to give you your latest mission on The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This week I’ve been hearing a lot about Glastonbury on the radio and it has given me a bad case of music festival withdrawal. So while I search for a local event to attend this summer, I will content myself with revisiting previous communal terpsichorean experiences.

To this end, I’m setting the theme for Monday’s challenge as; Music on film.

Now, if this requires you to rifle through your archives to find something apposite, be my guest, that’s exactly what I’ll be doing. But obviously, if you do happen upon some new musical imagery, don’t hesitate to snap it up.

Have a great weekend, see y’all soon.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Summer views.

Well, didn’t that weekend go by quickly?

Anyway, since we’re all here and it’s apparently Monday again, let’s get on with The Cosmic Photo Challenge and have a look at your; Summer views.

As it turned out, the weather was just starting to change as I went out taking pictures yesterday morning (there was a thunder storm later), but it is summer and these were the views I had as I walked along the river from Fremington Quay.

Where did your photographic wanderings take you for the challenge this week..?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: The great wide open.

I thought the weather was turning against me at the weekend and getting out into The great wide open might have been more of a Cosmic Photo Challenge than usual, but yesterday the sun returned after a foggy start at the local vineyard.

By one o’clock it was roasting hot and I drove up to the wind farm on top of the river valley, where panoramas really are the only way to do the view justice. I was rather pleased with capturing four moving turbines in a single long exposure shot, plus I caught a couple of nice reflections.

Where in the great outdoors did you seek inspiration at the weekend..?

Fingers crossed the weather stays nice this weekend, because The Cosmic Photo Challenge is going out into; The great wide open.

Sometimes it’s nice to get out where you can see the whole sky for a change, really feel the space around you, which is the feeling I’d like your images to evoke for Monday’s post.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the great outdoors.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Fun in the sun.

Good day to you, wherever you may be, I hope you managed to have Fun in the sun at the weekend, to give you material for The Cosmic Photo Challenge today.

I took a walk around the local funfair, which has been in town for a couple of weeks, to try some experiments with long exposure pictures of the various spinning and undulating rides.

Also, because music is never far away from my weekend itinerary, I used a timelapse video of the fairground to provide a visual accompaniment to one of yesterday’s peculiar sonic adventures.

Now let’s have a look at your fun weekend…
