Happy bank holiday Monday to you all, I hope the Easter weekend went swimmingly and you’re enjoying the extra day off.

This week The Cosmic Photo Challenge is based on the prompt; Inversions.

I went out snapping early yesterday morning, without a clear idea of what I would do with my photos, but I had a flash of inspiration as I sat in the garden with a cider and I think they came out rather well.

I like the way the inverted half of each image makes it look like they’re not lined up straight, but they really are, honest.

Another Monday, another chance to take part in The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which this week takes its inspiration from the prompt; The arrival of Spring.

Rhonda and I took a stroll round Arlington Court house and gardens yesterday afternoon (please go and check out most of the pictures I took HERE), where the Spring bulbs were in full bloom and there was a definite feeling of regeneration in the air.

Well, hello there, how y’all doing this fine Friday? It’s time to provide you with your homework for the weekend, by way of this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

There was of course an Equinox on Wednesday, so I thought it was about time to officially welcome the new season in images, with; The arrival of Spring.

Yes, yes, I’m aware some of you are experiencing a completely different set of seasonal changes at the moment, so you may either document those in your post, or trawl your archives for some springtime pictures, the choice is yours.

I captured some contrasting views of Barnstaple, some of which were looking thru the flowers, allowing me to crowbar in a jangly dream pop classic for good measure.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Interesting buildings.

Hooray, it’s Monday again!

Why so pleased to start the week, I hear you ask. Well, because it means it’s The Cosmic Photo Challenge of course, today based on the prompt; Interesting buildings.

I have to admit the theme of this week’s challenge came to me at five o’clock on Friday morning, an hour into the four and a half hour drive to central London from Devon. 

We had to travel to the American Embassy in Nine Elms, which is surrounded by the luxury high-rise, Thames-side apartments of Embassy Gardens, for a one hour passport renewal appointment, before driving the 250 miles back home.

Fortunately it was a lovely sunny day and the architecture was at its sparkly best. The Embassy itself, with its sculptural facade and two apartment blocks with an extraordinary glass swimming pool  suspended between them, a dozen storeys high, were particularly impressive.
