This week on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, we’re getting up close and personal with the natural world, following Friday’s prompt; Close up on nature.

I chose to capture some of the more flamboyant examples of local horticulture, along with a busy bumble bee and an impressively antlered but badly coordinated flying beetle which lumbered into the fennel in our garden.

It’s probably chancing the wrath of The Cosmic Photo Challenge weather jinx, but I’m going to cross my fingers and hope to get out and about again for this week’s prompt; Close up on nature.

We’ve had a few challenges involving the wide open spaces of the countryside recently, but I thought it would make a nice change to concentrate on some of the things which might get missed in the Big Picture.

So get up close and personal with the flora and fauna in your part of the weekend world and we’ll all return on Monday to display the fruits of our photographic scavenger hunt.

Hello wherever you are and welcome to another Monday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which is brought to you this week by the prompt; Country landscapes.

As I was rudely awakened at 6am on Saturday, by our antisocial upstairs neighbours having one of their early morning screaming matches, I thought I may as well make the most of it. So I drove up onto Exmoor and captured the start of another glorious day in the Devon countryside.

This week’s mission on The Cosmic Photo Challenge was for you to capture some images which illustrate the prompt; My outside space.

We only have a small space, but we make the most of it and one of my favourite elements of it isn’t even in our garden. Its the trees that line the back fence, part of the woods which were here before the estate was built; at this time of year with their new foliage at its best, they add a whole new dimension to our extra outdoor room.

Good morning, welcome to the weekend and to your prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge.

For your photographic inspiration this time, I’m asking you to look around; My outside space.

Ok, so that’s obviously your outside space, be it a garden or a yard, a balcony or roof terrace, or even a window box, whatever external space you can call your own, that’s where you should take your pictures.

And if you’re not fortunate enough to have any private outside area you can access, show us the place you most often use to just relax and enjoy the great outdoors in a quiet moment.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: In the trees.

What a beautiful weekend it was, the perfect weather to be out taking pictures for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which is brought to you this week by the prompt; In the trees.

I love this time of year, when the leafy canopies are opening and whole areas of open ground, previously covered in bare sticks once again become green cathedrals of dappled shade and birdsong. And the good part is, I only have to walk two minutes down the road and I’m in this small slice of arboreal paradise.
