Cosmic Photo prompt.

Good morning/afternoon/evening to you, I hope you’re having a good Saturday so far and are staying safe by finding plenty of shade from the extreme heat we’re allegedly expecting.

This week’s prompt on The Cosmic Photo Challenge requests that you capture images of; Birds and bees and bugs and fleas.

Ok, maybe not fleas, that’s just to explain the theme is broader than simply birds and bees and includes whatever miniature critters you like and anything that can fly is also fair game.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: A summer walk in the sunshine.

Well, it’s Monday again, but at least here on The Cosmic Photo Challenge we have a weekend of sunny pictures to look back on, as the prompt was to take; A summer walk in the sunshine.

I chose to take my stroll in the woods at Venn Quarries, as it was really hot on Saturday and the dappled shade cast by the trees was a welcome relief from the early afternoon glare.

I like the fact I could only work out what was going on here, from the stone at the bottom of the picture.

It seems we may be in for a spot of hot weather over the weekend, so for this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, (with the usual caveats to those of you south of the equator) we’re going for; A summer walk in the sunshine.

It’s simple, it’s easy and it’s not terribly imaginative, but it will be enjoyable and will, I’m sure, provide the usual fabulous results from y’all.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge; Indoor freestyle.

Hello there, welcome to a rather unusual edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, today themed around the extremely loose prompt; Indoor freestyle.

It was a strange week last week; having tested positive for Covid on Monday morning I was in isolation until yesterday evening, when I finally tested negative, although I am still feeling a bit below par. Which is all the explanation you’re getting for me having deviated slightly on my own challenge.

Since I was trapped in the flat all week, I did what I usually do to amuse myself and made some new musical creations, one of which you can experience right here, accompanied by my…photographic contribution.

The video you see below is made using only a two minute clip of me wandering around the living room and kitchen with my phone, filming anything and everything at peculiar angles, all of which then had layers and layers of effects applied to them and voila!

Normal service will be resumed next week, but in the meantime, let’s see what the more sensible of you produced over the weekend.

A limited prompt for The Cosmic Photo Challenge today, as I’ve been laid up with Covid for the last week; Indoor freestyle.

Basically you can take photos of whatever you like this week, but to level the playing field, as I’ll still be isolating over the weekend, your images must be captured inside.

I chose half a dozen shots from the ones I took on an early Saturday morning drive, in the countryside just outside Barnstaple.

For this week’s theme on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, I’m continuing the thread of flora and fauna, but in monochrome, with; Nature in black and white.

That’s about as simple as it gets, so no explanation required, just get out there and capture the natural world in shades of grey and meet back here on Monday for the big reveal.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Night and day.

This week’s entry for The Cosmic Photo Challenge took possibly the longest time it’s ever taken to produce a single image, based on the prompt; Night and day.

I had no idea what I was going to do when I set the theme on Saturday and by the time I’d worked out how to get the shot I wanted, I’d already missed one opportunity.

Yesterday I set up a tripod in the garden, so I could take a few photos from the same place throughout the day, hoping that when it came to last night I’d have the images I needed to complete the big picture you hopefully see below (at the time of writing, I have yet to take the final photo)…

…Yay, I did it, this composite image is made up of five separate photos taken on the same spot across 12 hours.
