An aging hippy living in Devon, I do all this stuff (and I do mean everything - blog, animation, music, photography, the lot) on my lovely smartphone because I started like that, and now I'm too stubborn to get a computer. I don't have a theme, because I don't see why I'd want to talk about the same thing all the time, so why only write about one thing? I spent the weekend in Sussex, so my pictures were mostly taken in the village of Rotherfield, with a couple captured in the garden of The Wheatsheaf pub in my old hometown of Crowborough.

Hi there, welcome to your weekly pictorial pick-up, kicking off another Monday morning with The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which invited you to capture your submissions; At the end of the day.

I didn’t have to go far for these shots (a couple were actually taken through the kitchen window); going from twilight to full darkness, with atmosphere provided by my garden lighting, the moon and a nice touch of lens flare.

Hey, how’s it going? I hope, like me, you’ve been enjoying the scorching bank holiday weekend weather, or at least your local version of it, because here on The Cosmic Photo Challenge we’re going; Looking for shade.

Over the weekend I’ve had a few nice days out, one of which took me through Venn Quarry Woods on a walk to Landkey for a pint and a bowl of chips. The cool of the riverbank and the tree-shaded pathways were a welcome relief from the heat.

Good afternoon, it’s time for me to provide you with your inspiration for The Cosmic Photo Challenge on this gloriously sunny Friday.

We’re apparently expecting a “heat wave” in the UK over the next few days (an inaccurate term the newspapers all seem to use, every time the sun comes out for more than five minutes at a time), so this week we’re; Looking for shade.

I used the natural forms of ferns and trees to create my symmetrical artworks, their fronds and branches making wonderfully intricate patterns when multiplied.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Under the canopy.

Well here we are, with another week ahead of us, but Monday also brings the bonus of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is heading into the trees for the prompt; Under the canopy.

Just looking up at all the different shades of green unfurling above us at the moment makes me happy, so this challenge was no challenge at all, it was an absolute pleasure.

And one extra photo, which is above and below the canopy, taken as it was from up on some scaffolding. The outside of my building is being painted at the moment, so I took the opportunity to climb up at the weekend and capture this unusual perspective of one corner of my garden, above some of the trees and below others.

(I live on the ground floor, so I never get to see the garden from above)

Good afternoon, I hope you’re winding down for the weekend, ready for today’s prompt on The Cosmic Photo Challenge, should you choose to accept it.

I love this time of year, when the trees are finally unfurling their leaves, providing the world with a green roof and creating new, enclosed spaces to enjoy. So for Monday’s post we’re going; Under the canopy.
