An aging hippy living in Devon, I do all this stuff (and I do mean everything - blog, animation, music, photography, the lot) on my lovely smartphone because I started like that, and now I'm too stubborn to get a computer. I don't have a theme, because I don't see why I'd want to talk about the same thing all the time, so why only write about one thing? Another weekend gone in a flash, but with The Cosmic Photo Challenge to restart your week, Mondays aren’t so bad.

This week we were out searching for Bare trees and I was spoilt for choice, on my misty but not unpleasant wander around Rock Park in Barnstaple, yesterday afternoon.

Now it feels like the slightest possibility of Spring might conceivably be just around the next couple of corners, it’s nearly the last chance to capture; Bare trees.

I love a good tree silhouette, bare or otherwise, so I’ll enjoy this one, I hope you have a good weekend searching for some defoliated inspiration, too.

That’s another wet weekend done and dusted and The Cosmic Photo Challenge is here to continue the theme with; Shades of grey.

I was sitting in the shed listening to the rain on Saturday when something alighted (heavily) on the roof. I poked my camera over the door frame and… Oops, one startled pigeon.

Removing the colours really focuses in on the shape and form of things

And there aren’t too many things greyer than the moon.

There goes another weekend and here comes yet another Monday, made all the more bearable by The Cosmic Photo Challenge and this week’s theme; What’s flowering where you are?

I admit I was nearly stumped by my own prompt, having been over-optimistic about the number of early blooms to be found. But I took a very blustery walk around the park yesterday and managed to find a few tenacious little flowers (ok, and fungi) braving the wintery conditions.

How is the hardy flora in your neck of the woods? Time for an international roundup of natural beauty…
