An aging hippy living in Devon, I do all this stuff (and I do mean everything - blog, animation, music, photography, the lot) on my lovely smartphone because I started like that, and now I'm too stubborn to get a computer. I don't have a theme, because I don't see why I'd want to talk about the same thing all the time, so why only write about one thing? Hello, welcome to a low down and deep green edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, this week themed around the prompt; Down in the grass.

*edit: please excuse the mysteriously early Sunday post, I was sure I’d scheduled it for Monday as usual.

It was yet another gloriously sunny weekend, making it almost impossible to take a bad picture. So; a variety of grasses and wild flowers with all their different seed heads against a beautiful clear blue sky; plus the neatly mown, dew covered grass of a golf course. By a lake. What’s not to like?

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Morning has broken.

It’s the second bank holiday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge this month and today we’re inspired by the prompt; Morning has broken.

I captured most of my pictures on the country lanes outside the village of Landkey when I took Rhonda to work on Saturday morning. The last shot is from our garden, featuring the clay mushroom cap I made during the week, to sit on the stem of a frost damaged cordyline plant.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Waterways.

Hello there, I hope the weather was as good for you over the weekend as it was here, it was gorgeous out in the woods capturing images for The Cosmic Photo Challenge yesterday.

Our theme this week is; Waterways, very loosely referring to pretty much any body of water you can think of and I picked one of my favourite local riverside walks.

Trees casting dappled shade made it a pleasantly cool stroll and even though this branch of the river Yeo was at its lowest ebb in the heat, the slowly flowing waters produced some great reflections.

Hi there, I hope you had a pleasant weekend, but now it’s Monday again and time for The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today is based on the prompt; In the evening.

I seem to be the only person in the UK who didn’t see the Northern Lights on Friday or Saturday night, which was rather poor timing. I ended up capturing the end of the weekend down by the river, along with some long exposure shots of passing cars.

Hello there, welcome to a bank holiday edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which is inspired by Friday’s prompt; Out in the country.

My trip out to take pictures yesterday wasn’t very well timed, as the weather was just starting to turn (from the glorious sunshine we were treated to all day Saturday) to grey mist and the threat of rain.

Nevertheless, I managed to capture a lot of verdant greenery on the country lanes outside Barnstaple, as the land rises up towards the edge of Exmoor.

And, as a bonus, here’s an effects-laden video I made from a timelapse of my journey home yesterday.
