Hello, it’s a new week and a new edition of The Cosmic Photo Challenge, which today focuses on pictures taken; In town.
I went into town on Saturday and thought I’d capture some of the larger old buildings in Barnstaple. The problem is, it’s often difficult to get further away than just across the street, so I decided to use a wide angle for all my shots, adding a bit of extra drama.

How did your urban exploration go? Let’s have a look at what you found…

These turned out well. My favorite is the last one but I also like the way you framed the clock.

The final shot is Bridge Buildings, constructed between 1844 and 1879, housing the bridge trust, which oversees the maintenance of Barnstaple’s 13th century “long bridge” over the river Taw.
The clock is the Albert Monument , built (by the same people who made Bridge Buildings) which opened in 1862 to commemorate the death of Queen Victoria’s consort, Prince Albert, the year previously.

I especially liked that blue car in front of the white building.

Thank you, Frank, that used to be a night club, but it seems like it’s being converted into a church at the moment
